Schedule sleep and prepare for it. |
| Details: |
|
Often while working late time flies, without you noticing that very little time is left before the start of the next day's work.
Plan for sleep, and plan for it's preparation, so your mind and body will know it's time to get some sleep. A few hours before bed, stop eating, no snacking either. Bath or shower, and get dressed into your sleepwear. Now you can continue working but you have taken a break and established you need to get to sleep in a short time. You can continue working, but remember to plan a time to absolutely to stop work. Convince yourself, working an additional hour, is less productive than sleeping that hour, since you are less efficient, and likely to make costly mistakes. |

Time flies when working. |

Alarm clocks aren't just for waking up, but can be used to go to sleep. Figure when you have to wake up the next day, then count backwards how many hours you need to sleep. Add in personal preparation time(brush teeth, shut off lights, etc), and add in finish up time(time needed to get what you are doing to a safe condition). Now when working late, you will not miss getting sleep for the next day. |
