Tip #1

Do not eat after 8pm

Background:   Long hours can make you feel that you are still energetic late into the night. So I found myself snacking, even eating a full meal after normal bedtime hours. Apparently even though I was still mentally awake and working away at the desk, my body was tired and had no use for the food, so stored it way as fat. Which resulted in me gaining weight. After I applied this idea I started to loss weight, and getting back to my normal weight.

Tip #2

Drink plenty of clear fluids.

Background:   I like to work late and drink diet mt. dew. I found that even with the rush of caffeine I would often feel run down. So I started to drink extra water believing I was getting dehydrated. Although I figured it wasn't the mt. dew making me feel run down, but lack of quality sleep, I noticed that I had shed a few pounds. Doing a little research I found people claim less water you drink, more your body tries to retain water. So, when I increased my plain water intake, my body shed the excess water and the results were immediate. I'm guessing there is some truth to old advice about 12 glasses of water a day.

Tip #3

Exercise your Brain, work out your body!

Background:   I managed to skill exercising, for me that means the walking/running on a treadmill, for several weeks. I somehow justified allowing this because of tips 1 and 2, and working on landscaping, I've managed to loss consistently a pound a week. Well looking back I've noticed something other than feeling physically drained, I'm requiring more sleep now(no power snack after 8pm anymore), my mental sharpness has declined. Exercising gave me 20-30 min's every other day, gave me 'quiet' time to think about what I am doing with my business and home projects. This simple, yet focused time helped me get thinks prioritized, and gave me a break from just 'doing' to thinking about how to do-it. So exercise your body for your mind too.
